In December of 2012, I graduated with my MLIS. A few months later I started working as a Public Relations Specialist for a public library system. I loved library school and I love my job. I can’t believe it took me so long to decide that being a Librarian was the right career choice.
I’m an avid reader (obviously) and my reading interests are varied; though I’ve tended towards the YA end of the spectrum lately. I also enjoy writing (again, obviously), even if I don’t have time to do it as much as I’d like. Other non-library and book interests include: sewing, painting, cooking, graphic arts, being outside, and traveling.
Education and Professional Interests
I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and Writing. I’ve just completed my Masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I’m interested in public libraries, most specifically marketing, advocacy, outreach, and youth librarianship; however my recent work for an elder care program has lead to an interest in programs and services for homebound elderly, as well.
